The health care assistant Job Summary
Royal Sussex County Hospital –Imaging Department
The health care assistant opportunity has arisen to recruit Band 3 HCAs to join our friendly team in the Interventional Radiology Department in Imaging.
We have 3 Band 3 roles:
- Interventional Radiology at Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
- Radiology General (which covers CT; MRI; Ultrasound; Fluoroscopy) at Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
- CT Department at Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath.
You will be required to assist qualified nurses, radiographers and radiologists in giving a high standard of quality care to our patients and will support the team in the smooth running of the department. You will be required to work as part of the multidisciplinary team, maintaining a professional and caring manner. Youmust be experienced in coordinating lists / clinics / procedure planning and working with multidisciplinary teams. You must have good IT skills and be able to learn new speciality-specific systems.
Previous experience in a Radiology Department is desirable but not essential.
Full Time 37.5 hrs/wk between the hours of 08:00 to 18:00. Includes late shifts of 12:00 to 20:00 and weekends. A typical shift would be 7.5 hours or 9.5 hours dependent on your agreed shift pattern.
Health Care Assistant Main Duties
- The health care assistant will actively and safely participate as a member of the nursing team and contribute towards the smooth and efficient running of the department, particularly in Ultrasound and Interventional Radiology areas
- To assist the nurses, sonographers and radiologists in giving individualised care to the patients and managing patient flow effectively
- The health care assistant will give excellent service to patients with respect and compassion, supported by effective communication and customer care skills
