Health Care Assistant Job Summary

We are an extremely friendly and supportive team, looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and reliable person to join our innovative, forward thinking pain service.

The pain service covers all aspects of pain management including minor pain procedures, chronic pain clinics and acute pain ward rounds.Although previous experience within Pain Management is not necessary, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skillsand be able to demonstrate experience of dealing with people from a variety of backgrounds. You will be working alongside & supporting both our medical & nursing team.

If you do not hold a level 2 qualification in direct care, you will need to undertake the healthcare support worker level 2 programme, this will be provided in house, during your working hours.

 

Health Care Assistant Main Duties

As a Health Care Assistant, your role will primarily be in supporting patients undergoing pain procedures both in and out of theatre but you will also support the chronic pain service clinics and some general administrative duties will also be required as part of the role.

  • Previous experience in a hospital health care environment.

Qualifications

  • Care Certificate or willing to work towards achieving qualification
  • Key skills – literacy and numeric (or equivalent)

Desirable

  • NVQ Level II In Direct Care/Post Natal Care/Diagnostics and Therapeutics
  • Basic First Aid Certificate
  • Food Handling Certificate
