Physiotherapist Job Summary

An exciting Physiotherapy Assistant opportunity has arisen within Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust for a Band 4 Physiotherapy Assistant to join our inpatient rehabilitation services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support our Physiotherapy team in delivering high-quality, person-centred care. You will play a key role in supporting patients’ rehabilitation and recovery, helping to maximise independence and quality of life.

This post sits within a multidisciplinary team, working alongside Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Nurses, Psychologists, and Medical staff, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.

 

Physiotherapist Main Duties

Assist Physiotherapists in delivering evidence-based treatment programmes to patients in inpatient settings.

Support patients in carrying out rehabilitation exercises and functional activities.

Observe, monitor, and record patient progress, reporting back to supervising clinicians.

Prepare and maintain treatment areas and therapy equipment safely and effectively.

Contribute to patient-centred care planning as part of the wider multidisciplinary team.

Participate in team meetings, service development initiatives, and training sessions.

Be based at The Harbour, Blackpool, with the requirement to travel to other Trust sites when necessary to deliver treatment.

Person Specification

Knowledge

Essential

  • Has knowledge and understanding of long term conditions.
  • Have knowledge of mental illness and disability.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a healthcare, therapy, or rehabilitation setting.
  • Experience of patient facing care
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to the changing needs of patients.

Education

Essential

  • Assistant Practitioner Qualification or equivalent or NVQ level 4 or equivalent
