We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialised care. As a Care Worker, you will play a key role in delivering personalised care in various settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and clients’ homes.
Domiciliary Health Care Worker Duties
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health or behaviour.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- The domiciliary health care worker will support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or manager.
- The domiciliary health care worker should provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Implement behaviour management strategies as needed for clients with specific challenges such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.
Domiciliary Health Care Worker Requirements
- The domiciliary health care worker should have previous experience in caregiving, assisted living, nursing home settings, or similar roles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of senior care practices, including hospice care and dementia care principles.
- Certification in First Aid is preferred; training can be provided if necessary.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- The domiciliary health care worker should have a valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting clients when needed.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
- A caring attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
