The post holder will form part of a robust multidisciplinary team providing assessment and treatment interventions to individuals with complex mental health and learning difficulties. The role will support the Occupational Therapists to plan and deliver a range of evidence based therapeutic interventions to patients, including group work.
Within the role the successful candidate will receive robust clinical supervision and opportunities for learning and development. We are a friendly and supportive team with a flexible approach.
Main duties of the job
To work with the Occupational Therapy Team within the Forensic Division you will be expected:
- To provide Occupational Therapy, as delegated to support patients/service-users within standard operation procedures and contribute to the care planning process as a member of the team.
- To be responsible for working with delegated service users and contributing to assessments and interventions to address key occupational performance areas, taking into account identified risk factors.
- Undertake general duties within the department.
- The occupational therapy assistant will work in adherence with Trust and local policies and procedures.
- The occupational therapy assistant will plan own time under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist.
- The occupational therapy assistant will participate in clinical supervision.
- To contribute to multi-disciplinary team working.
- The occupational therapy assistant will contribute to safety and quality improvement activities as part of occupational therapy team.
- To use the Trust electronic patient record system.
- The occupational therapy assistant will be able to respond flexibly and creatively to challenges.
