The Royal Oldham Care Organisation is looking for patient focused support staff to join ward F12- Emergency and Surgical Elective Unit. Specialising in Colorectal Cancer Services.
The Health care Assistant role is key in ensuring that our nursing teams are supported to deliver consistent, high quality, patient centred care.
Band 3 Health Care Assistant duties
As a Band3 Health Care Assistant Your care for other people and your willingness to go above and beyond to provide the best possible care to patients and relatives will ensure your success in the role. Friendly and approachable in your style, you’ll be someone who can communicate well, be able to organise your workload accordingly and be a reliable point of support for patients, relatives and your colleagues.
Completion of an NVQ level 2, apprenticeship in Care or equivalent training is essential for this role, please refer to the job description.

Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria
- Good communication (written and verbal skills)
- Basic IT skills
- Good organisational skills
Knowledge, Training & Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working as a Care Support Worker or equivalent in a Health or Social care setting
- Experience of working within a team
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrates an interest or previous experience in supporting other health care staff and learners
- Commitment to undertaking continuous professional development (CPD)
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or a Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship – or equivalent experience
- Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)
- Care Certificate
