Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes and assisted living facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, the ability to follow care plans, and the capability to assist with medication administration. The Support Worker will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of clients while promoting their independence and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities.
- Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Assist with heavy lifting and mobility support for clients with physical limitations.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and case management teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and emotional support.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within a nursing home or assisted living setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Certification in First Aid is highly desirable.
- Ability to drive is advantageous for transporting clients as needed.
- Strong understanding of care plans and case management processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by client needs.

Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
