Who Can Apply?

The Birmingham Masters Scholarship is open to students domiciled in the UK or Ireland who are eligible for ‘Home’ fee status. The scholarship is designed for applicants pursuing eligible 180-credit Master’s courses, including LLM, MA (Taught), MSc (Pre-reg and Taught), MPH, MEd, MBA, and MPA programs. Notably, the scholarship prioritizes graduates from universities in the Midlands, emphasizing the importance of retaining local talent and encouraging further professional development within the region.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be classified as ‘Home’ students for fee status.
  • Must be self-funded or applying for a postgraduate government loan to cover tuition and living costs.
  • Not already enrolled in a postgraduate program at the time of application.
  • Pursuing a full 180-credit taught Master’s course at the University of Birmingham’s Edgbaston Campus, Stratford-upon-Avon, partnered institutions, or through distance learning.

Application Process

To be considered for the Birmingham Masters Scholarship, applicants must complete the following steps by the deadlines:

  1. Submit an application for your chosen Master’s program through the University of Birmingham’s Course Finder https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/postgraduate/courses/search.aspx, ensuring all supporting documentation (references, transcripts, and English language certification, if applicable) is included.

Key Deadlines:

  • Round One: Applications close at 23:59 (UK time) on 30 April 2025.
  • Round Two: Applications close at 23:59 (UK time) on 31 July 2025.
