Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is a critical field that spans multiple disciplines, focusing on the safety, health, and welfare of individuals in the workplace. It encompasses a broad range of areas, including architecture, engineering, law, medicine, ergonomics, and occupational rehabilitation, among others.

To foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of OSH, the Occupational Safety and Health Council of Hong Kong is offering the Occupational Safety & Health Best Project Scholarship for the academic year 2024. This scholarship aims to encourage students to integrate OSH into their studies and recognize those who excel in OSH-related research.

Scholarship Benefits

The OSH Best Project Scholarship offers invaluable benefits for students dedicated to occupational safety and health:

1# Cash Prizes and Merit Awards: Up to five applicants will be shortlisted for a Certificate of Merit, along with a cash prize of HK$4,000.

2# Recognition and Publicity: The winning students will gain recognition within the occupational safety and health community. The OSH Council reserves the right to display and disseminate the findings from the winning projects to the public, giving the winners the opportunity to have their work showcased across various platforms.

Application Process

Students who meet the eligibility requirements and have demonstrated excellence in OSH-related applied research are invited to apply for the scholarship. The following steps should be followed:

1# Prepare the Required Documents:

    • Complete the application form https://sfao.hkust.edu.hk/announcement_detail.php?id=716.
    • Submit a copy of the project report/dissertation from the 2024 academic year.
    • Include an A4 summary of the project (not exceeding 500 words), highlighting the aim, methodology, results, relevance to occupational safety and health, and contribution of the project.

2# Submission Details:

    • Applications, along with all the necessary documents, should be sent to: Occupational Safety & Health Council: 19/F, China United Centre, 28 Marble Road, North Point, Hong Kong.

Application Deadline: The application must be submitted on or before 30 September 2024.
