Band 2 Theatre Health care Assistant (General and Emergency Theatres)
**The Health care Assistant will start as Band 2 but will have the opportunity to be upgraded to Band 3 on completion of all competencies/development skills.**
This is an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

A caring nature, good communication skills and a willingness to learn and develop are essential. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who has an interest in a career in operating theatres and would like to gain experience in General and Emergency Theatres.
You will be required to work on a rota basis, inclusive of Monday – Friday, weekends, nights and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with the Registered Practitioners delivering high standard perioperative care to patients, assisting with preparing theatre, checking equipment and escorting patient to theatres.
Previous experience is desirable but not essential as successful applicants will receive a comprehensive induction on commencing the post.

As part of the induction process, all new Healthcare Assistants will be supported to complete the nationally recognised Care Certificate (attached document refers) developed by Health Education England, Skills for Health and Skills for Care (2015).
This fantastic opportunity will allow you to gain formal recognition for the skills and knowledge you develop within the first 12 weeks of employment within the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
