Health Care Assistant Job Overview
A vacancy has arisen for a Health Care Assistant (HCA) in the Mary Rankin Dialysis Unit, situated on the grounds of St Pancras Hospital. The unit is very close to the tube and bus services.
Experience of working as a health care assistant is desirable but other relevant experience will be considered. Good communication skills, flexibility and a high standard of work are required for the post.
There are opportunities to develop skills and knowledge to complete haemodialysis competencies with a named mentor.
We are looking to fill a permanent full-time post.
Health Care Assistant Main Duties
As a member of the multidisciplinary team the health care assistant will contribute to the delivery of patients’ individual care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
The Senior Nursing Assistant demonstrates a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies. S/he will undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and
assessed as competent.
There is the opportunity to develop within the role and undertake further training and development.
To act as a role model for student nurses and colleagues.
