The Jefferiss Wing at St Mary’s Hospital is on the lookout for a proactive, empathetic, and non-judgmental Healthcare Assistant to join our forward-thinking nursing team within the Integrated Sexual Health Service.

What You’ll Do:
- Support clinics with sample collection and processing, phlebotomy, microscopy, and chaperoning procedures.
- Support our expert clinicians in specialist clinics like IUT (Intrauterine Contraception).
- Make a real difference in people’s lives every day.
What We Are Looking For:
- Excellent communicator (written & spoken).
- Confident using your initiative in a clinical setting.
- Experience in phlebotomy or sexual health screening? Great! If not, we’ll train you.
- Above all – empathetic, inclusive, and passionate about patient care.

Health Care Assistant Main Duties
- To work across both clinics in Jefferiss Wing – The Sexual Health clinic and The HIV Outpatient Department (The Wharfside Clinic).
- To carry out care and treatment tasks, delegated from professionally qualified staff, requiring a range of technical ability.
- Ensure the clinic environment is safe and clean.
- Fulfil any clerical duties.
- To supervise less experienced Nursing Assistants.
- To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide support for any area specified by the coordinating nurse on duty.
