Job Summary

To work with the Breast Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS), assisting them to provide holistic care for a variety of cancer patients, from the point of diagnosis through to surveillance/end of life.

The CSW will work under the supervision of the CNS with the aim to release time for them to conduct the core elements of their role.

Main duties of the job

This will include triaging phone calls, co-ordinating care, holistic needs assessment, referrals, some admin as well as sign posting patients for further support and information.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE English Language and Mathematics (Grades A-C) or equivalent

Desirable

  • Training in foundation degree in health and social care equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Relevant health or social care experience or equivalent

Desirable

  • Experience in coordinating a patient workload

Skills

Essential

  • Ability to communicate both verbally and non-verbally on a daily basis with people at all levels in a sensitive manner.

Desirable

  • Ability to work flexibly across different teams and specialities
