Care Assistant Job summary
We are looking to appoint Health care Assistants who are enthusiastic, motivated with a passion for caring to join our dedicated Team on Ward 9.
Ward 9 specialises in the care of patients with Haematological conditions. There are 12 beds and 3 ambulatory chairs providing specialist care by treating conditions and supporting patients through the side effects from treatments. This not only means supporting the physical effects but also the emotional effects that having treatment entails. Ward 9 is an acute ward where patients can rapidly deteriorate and therefore the team relies on excellent care and communication across the whole team.
Care Assistant Main duties
As a health care Assistant you will work as part of a large multidisciplinary team and will play a key role in delivering the fundamentals of care for patients under the supervision of a nurse, whilst supporting patients to achieve the shared goals. Individuals should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills who are willing to learn and take on new challenges as the service develops.
Experience of working in a care setting is essential but all necessary skills training, professional updates and mandatory training as appropriate to the post will be provided.There will be an expectation of a flexible approach to shifts patterns, the service covers a 24 hour period so night shifts are expected.Please be advised – this vacancy may close early if we reach a sufficient amount of applications.
