• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those dealing with dementia or requiring hospice care.
• Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure a safe environment for clients.
• Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• The care worker will engage in light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
• The care worker will assist with childcare when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in your care.

Requirements

• Previous experience in home care or senior care is preferable.
• Knowledge of dementia care practices and hospice care principles is an advantage.
• Certification in first aid is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
• A valid driver’s licence is required for transporting clients when needed.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
• A caring attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality support to those in need.
