Health Promotion Worker Job Summary

To provide a mobile health venue to RDaSH services and external providers of health care across the Trusts geographical footprint and occasionally beyond. To support partners to deliver health promotion and health service activities that engage individuals that may not routinely access health care. In order to drive the Health Bus the post holder must have a full driving license with either Class D (PSV), Class C (LGV) or Class C+E (LGV).

Health Promotion Worker Main duties

To promote the Health Bus as a venue for Health Promotion events and service delivery internally and externally to RDaSH. This requires active networking and the forging of new working relationships with potential partners.

To manage the bus schedule, ensure the diary is up to date and accurate, log all bookings and complete risk assessments

To drive the Health Bus to outreach venues and be responsible for completion of safety checks and maintaining the cleanliness of the bus.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good standard of education – 5 GCSE grade C or above or equivalent
  • Up to date knowledge of road safety including a certificate of professional competence (CPC training – 35 hours every 5 years
  • Holds a minimum level 3 qualification in care, youth work, equivalent health, youth offending or social care qualification.
  • Full Driving license with either Class D (PSV), Class C (LGV) or Class C+E (LGV)

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
