We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our Children’s Community healthcare team. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing essential care and support to individuals in their homes and local communities.

You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need and contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

 

Main duties of the job

– Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a community or home care setting (Band 3)

– NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care

– Compassionate and patient-centred approach

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

– Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

– Full driving license and access to a vehicle essential

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant level 3 qualification (NVQ/ QCF Diploma or certificate of care / Advanced apprenticeship ) or equivalent Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths)

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Healthcare Assistant/ Worker in a health or social care setting Experience of working as part of a team Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (E-Pay / E-roster/ AT-P/ CIS)

Desirable

  • Experience within community healthcare setting

Knoweldge

Essential

  • Awareness of developments in the NHS Knowledge of up to date clinical practice. Understands the role and remit of Unregistered worker

Skills and abilities

Essential

  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written). Ability to organise own work Ability to cope with change Ability to use own initiative Moderate IT skills.
