Health Care Assistant Main duties
The following are the core responsibilities of the Healthcare Assistant. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels. PLEASE NOTE: You must have experience of working in Primary Care to be considered :
Wound care non-complex dressing
Removal of stitches
Perform NHS Health checks, weight monitoring, and Long-Term Condition monitoring including diabetic foot checks.
Provide lifestyle advice to patients making any necessary referrals.
ECG
Phlebotomy
Administer B12 injections under PSDs signed by GPs.
Administer annual influenza vaccinations/pneumonia under PSD (training can be given)
Urine dipstick testing
BP monitoring including 24-hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
Injections, including B12, within level of training.
Care plans
Re-stocking of all clinical areas and maintaining stocks and keeping all clinical areas clean
To maintain and order clinical supplies and health
