Health Care Assistant Job summary
As a valued member of the team you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of Doctors, Nurses, Emergency Health Care Assistants and Admin Staff and be responsible for the assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating of nursing care within Ambulatory Emergency Care.
You will work with a team of doctors, nurses, specialist teams and other Healthcare Support Workers whilst undertaking care including initial assessments and take care of patients attending Ambulatory Emergency Care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
The postholder would be required to work according to Trust policies and professional guidelines.
Health Care Assistant Main Duties
- Ensure excellent communication skills are used when documenting care, taking messages or passing on information when appropriate, taking into account data protection and use of sensitive information.
- Taking responsibility for ordering of stock and equipment and ensuring stock levels are maintained within the unit.
- To act in a courteous and professional manner at all times within the unit and when assisting with patient needs and care.
- Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times and compliance with data protection act and trust policies related to patient care.
- To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and cover a range of shift times to ensure service delivery is maintained.
