Working as part of our Bristol based team as a Health Care Assistant youll, be responsible for coordinating patient lists and activities including teaching, administration, stock control and equipment maintenance.

Main duties of the job

The main duties for this Ward Health Care Assistant will be:

 

  • To effectively coordinate patient lists ensuring relevant information and details are available and adequate
  • Assist with administration tasks, (ensuring files and required documentation are kept up to date and accurate
  • Management of stock control, ensuring good levels, ordering when appropriate, pre-empting any shortfall
  • Ensuring equipment maintained, clean and fit for purpose, highlighting and documenting any faults

 

 

 

 

Having already achieved your BLS certificate you will be willing to compete your NVQ level 3 if you havent already and it would be an advantage if you have worked in acute healthcare environment.

 

More important though is your flexibility, your knowledge of infection control, belief in teamwork and your ability to use your initiative, follow instructions and prioritise a busy workload.

 

Above all, you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and want to work in an environment where the work can be hard, but also fun and rewarding.

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Basic Life Support (BSL) Certificate

Experience

  • No essential criteria although past experience of working in an acute healthcare environment would be advantage.
