Working as a healthcare assistant in healthcare can be incredibly fulfilling as it allows you to make a positive impact on people’s lives every day.

We are looking for experienced and committed Healthcare Assistants with an interactive approach, who are eager to enhance their skills in the complex care sector. While prior complex care experience is beneficial, it is not a requirement as full bespoke clinical training will be provided.

You will need to be passionate about delivering the highest quality care to our service users, building positive relationships with them and their family whilst empowering them to live as independently as possible within the comfort of their own home.

Our service user is a teenage boy that is living with his family in Peterlee and requires care throughout the day and night on a 1:1 basis to support his complex care needs.

He is generally a happy young boy who loves to spend time with others attending school and participating in everyday activities.

A key aspect of this role involves supporting him within his educational setting, enjoying his hobbies, interests and accessing his favourite social activities.

 

Main duties of the job

Throughout the day you will provide support with all aspects of care and companionship, this includes personal care, moving and handling, clinical observations, attending to his clinical care needs when required.

You will create a calming environment, offering reassurance and comfort when needed to promote a restful nights sleep.

Our service user has specifically requested for female staff to work on their team.

It is essential to hold a valid driving licence with access to your own vehicle for this position

We have the following shifts available

  • Full Time and Part Time Days and Nights
  • 2 – 3 shifts per week
  • Days: 7:30am – 4:00pm
  • Nights: 9:30pm 8:30am

Take a look at our pay rates

Weekdays: £13.00 per hour (£110.50 approx. per 8.5-hour shift)

Weeknights: £13.50 per hour (£148.50 approx. per 11-hour shift)

Saturday & Sundays: £14.00 per hour (£154.00 approx. per 11-hour shift)

Bank Holidays: £15.00 per hour (£165.00 approx. per 11-hour shift)

The role of a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) is to work without direct supervision in the home of the service user providing care and support including personal, social, and domestic support whilst adhering to the service users individual care and support plan.

The aim of the position is to enable service users to remain safely in their own home with as much independence as possible.

Alongside providing care and support in a professional, discreet, and caring manner, always ensuring the service users right to privacy and dignity is maintained
