Job summary

Health care Assistant – Band 2

The Health care Assistant is an essential member of the multi-disciplinary team providing high standard of care for patients as well as support and comfort to family members, friends and carers.

The health care assistant will be expected to provide a high level of Essential Care to meet the needs of patients in the Ward. This will include helping to maintain personal hygiene, continence, mobility, nutrition and hydration.

As well as supporting recovery health care assistant  will promote rehabilitation, encouraging patients to regain and maintain as much independence as possible

In addition to Essential Care and Support there will be the opportunity to develop additional skills, including the monitoring and recording of Patient Observations, ECGs and Phlebotomy

 

We will support successful health care assistant to complete the Care Certificate whilst working with us, to embed their practice and learning and support ongoing development.

The teams on the wards include Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Health Care Assistants, Rehabilitation Support Workers, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Doctors.

Working unsocial hours pays an additional 85% on Bank Holidays and Sundays and an additional 43% at other times.   • GCSE Maths & English grade D or above or Level 1 functional skills in Literacy and Numeracy
