As a Healthcare Assistant, your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Monitoring Health: Taking vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and reporting any changes in the patient’s condition to senior healthcare staff.
  • Mobility Support: Helping patients with mobility, transferring them from one position to another, and encouraging safe exercises or rehabilitation routines.
  • Meal Assistance: Assisting with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring that patients are eating and drinking enough to maintain their health.
  • Emotional Support: Offering companionship, listening to patients’ concerns, and providing emotional comfort during their recovery or care.
  • Supporting Healthcare Professionals: Helping nurses and doctors with basic medical tasks, preparing medical equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • While formal qualifications aren’t always required, we prefer candidates who have:
    • Previous experience in healthcare or a caring role (e.g., working in a nursing home, hospital, or as a personal care assistant).
    • A willingness to undergo training, including certifications in First Aid, Safeguarding, and Health and Safety.
    • A compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to help others.
