Health Care Assistant Overview
St Vincent Care Home are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with residents to assist with daily activities, promote independence, and enhance their quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
Health Care Assistant Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals in following their care plans and achieving their personal goals.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Drive residents to appointments or activities as required.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents’ conditions.
- Help create a warm and welcoming environment within the care home or during home visits.
- Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation in community events.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Strong communication skills in English are required to effectively interact with residents and colleagues.
- A willingness to learn about individual care plans and adapt to the needs of each resident.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for those required to transport residents.
- An understanding of basic IT skills is beneficial for maintaining records and using care management software.
