Therapy Assistant Job Summary

An exciting has arisen to join the Reablement therapy team as a therapy assistant  secondment. The team is based in the South Somerset cluster of intermediate care pathway beds, which currently include Cooksons Court, Sherborne House and La Fontana.

Do you enjoy completing prescription rehabilitation from both Physiotherapists and Occupational therapists with a complex variety caseload during their inpatient stay?

Do you enjoy participation and running of groups such as exercise classes, mindfulness sessions and Breakfast clubs?

Come and join our friendly therapy team which consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Senior Rehabilitation Assistants for a fixed period to see learn invaluable community and rehabilitation skills.

Therapy Assistant Main duties

The therapy assistant will work as an integral member of the Intermediate Care Service providing effective support to Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and any other team members

The therapy assistant will work work with patients undertaking therapy/rehabilitation programmes to support and encourage them to achieve their optimum level of independence and quality of life, as directed by team therapists

The therapy assistant will work with patients in a range of community locations, including community hospitals, care home rehabilitation units and in service users own homes with overall supervision from rehabilitation professionals.
